Wendy Francis

Wendy’s vibrancy and determination allows her to accomplish many wonderful things; however, it’s her passion for all things family that shines through as she talks.

Wendy’s zeal for family has led her to accept the nomination to run for a Queensland senate position with Family First.

Meeya Wright

Critically ill and barely conscious; drugged and hallucinating; yet when this mother was roused, the first thing she did was frantically hold her stomach, where her unborn child should’ve been.  The attending nurse said the horror on her face sent a chill down her spine.  Even in a barely conscious state, this mother was thinking about her child. What a wonderful example of a mother’s instinct. A Swine Flu survival story.

Shazz

Shazz’s peaches and cream skin was glowing, her glossy hair swept up allowing her cornflower blue eyes to highlight her strong alluring face.  It was her miracle wedding.  Just 8 weeks prior, Shazz’s fiancé Josh, came  close to death due to a brain tumour and build-up of fluid on the brain.  It was Christmas Eve and after a long period of ill health, the pressure in Josh’s head was so great, he was rushed to hospital and a benign tumour was removed.  This was the start of a beautiful marriage; yet one filled with more challenges then most people have in ten lifetimes.

Colin Wee

Colin Wee is a strikingly energetic person.  This energy comes through his words as he writes as The Original SuperParent.  He is positive and real; honest and frank; strong minded and has a great sense of humour. Colin’s vitality extends to his role as a 5th degree black belt Taekwondo instructor, giving him opportunity to coach and teach children of various ages.

A House-husband interview.

Janet Camilleri

Today I’m interving the editor of Footprints, Janet Camilleri.  I first met Janet at last year’s Word Writers Fair — Brisbane.  What struck me most about Janet was the warmth in her beautiful smile, it’s like a  spray of sunshine.  This too, is evident when reading the magazine but the sunshine stretches further; across Australia and beyond.

Alison Lester: Australian Children’s Author

What is your best FunMum tip?Let your children stay home on rainy days. Try to say no as little as possible.

How can parents make reading-aloud time fun?Always read something you like. There’s nothing worse than wading through some boring rubbish trying to sound interested. Be honest with your kids and tell them if you think a book stinks.
