One Quarter Shy, Three Quarters Delight

I stood under our meeting tree and waited to see my son after school. I put effort into how I greet my kids after being separated because I believe it’s one of those moments worth being intentional about and investing in. 

I spotted him from a while away and watched him walk. He shuffles his feet in little kicks, head down. My how he has grown this year, but still, his bag seems big on him. I waved and he spotted me… and then…that smile. That smile! A quarter shy and three quarters delight. 

I adore my kids, but you know those moments when the love washes over you so strongly, so deeply, so fully, it’s overwhelming? That.
