My Style 25 July: Brown and Black and Fashion Trends

July 30, 2010

I don’t follow fashion trends.  I wear what I like and what suits me.  If I like what’s ‘in’ then I guess I’m in. If not, then I’ll just be a out-of-date me. Black and Brown? It’s so 2009 apparently.

My husband and I had three children while we students (not sure how we survived, but we did), so I know all about shopping on a budget. To me, being stylish is making the best with what I have.

Skivvy: Ezibuy

Cardigan: Fashion Fair (wore it  here and here)

Jeans: Myer (Jump)

Belt: Fashion Fair

Boots:  Half price from Mika Boutique on Main Street Caloundra. Also worn here and here.

Necklace: Diva

My Tip: Don’t follow fashion.  Wear what you like. Shop within your means.  Be you.

What I Love Most: The necklace.  It’s like wearing a little bit of happiness around my neck.

I couldnt agree more kelly, i am all for wear what you feel comfortable in. with me thats always jeans and a long shirt, im a big believer in not wearing what everyone else wears, or fitting in with the “trends”. i think you look great and you always dress very nice. your a busy mum, i take my hate off to you! I love the necklace but don’t know if I could pull it off – maybe I’m a bit shy in my fashion choices??! LOL

I think it would suit everyone. I just make sure what I’m wearing is fairly plain so it’s not so full on.

Know ALL about being students with 3 kids haha!! Bargain hunting becomes second nature. LOVE ebay (once got a Cooper St top for $8!!), and my Mum just knows that every Winter & Christmas I want clothes hehe. It’s a given ;)

**Whoops, I meant Birthday & Christmas. Well, my birthday is in Winter, so that’s when I get my winter clothes ;)

I think fashion trends are created by those in a position to make money from the clothes people have to buy. Combinations such as yours are classic and timeless. How can something like that date in a year? We’re not talking about assymetrical toga tops or something. It’s ridiculous. Colin

Absolutely Colin. It ridiculouos and I don’t buy into it.
