		<description>[...] I don&#8217;t have an issue with Santa Claus, nor his size (leave Santa and his belly I say, and Cookie Monster eating cookies for that matter). That said, I personally don&#8217;t make a big deal of Santa in our family.  Firstly, when my children were very young, they were afraid of him, and fair enough I say; what could be worse than being handed over to a strange man with a long white beard for a photo? Secondly, I believe Santa Claus is only a small part of Christmas, and so I strive for balance on this issue.  I&#8217;m certainly not poo-poo Sanda: Santa is fun, and my husband has been known to dress up for the children; however, I never forget the Birth of Jesus and the spirit of giving.
