I hate ironing. I avoid it like a plague. I detest ironing. I go for the crumpled look.
Yep, this is me, expect my waist is not so small and my iron not quite so vintage. To those people who iron underpants, what planet are you from? Just saying. lol
Would you believe it? I actually enjoyed ironing today in the name of fun for my girls. We customised plain t-shirts with iron-on transfers. There’s an endless range of designs available from shops like Spotlight or Lincraft. We used old t-shirts but plain shirts can be purchased from somewhere like Best & Less for under $10.
The girls picked out the transfers they liked; I’m all for promoting individuality. The activity was easy and mess free – gotta love that. Do some enjoyable ironing for a change.
Here are my designers.

Cool, I recently had my girls ironing – they loved it… we don’t iron much in this house. The transfers sound like a fun holiday idea. [getting to the shops doesn't sound so much fun]
They look wonderful
Just after Riley was born I made a shirt for Zoe, It has a huge photo of her holding and kissing her new brother on the front and a heap of other photos of the two of them together on it and on the back it said #1 Big Sister. It was to wear at his naming day. Im making some for playgroup next year too. I love Iron on transfers, just make sure that they dont go into the dryer and are dried lying flat.
Great idea! The topic had me clicking, I hate ironing too. I just realised I’ve managed to almost hit the 6 month mark without getting the ironing board out…as Isabella is nearly that age and I know I haven’t done any since she was born!! I get creative like hanging shirts and trousers on hangers after the wash…and my husband has simply gone to work looking a bit creased as he hates it more than me! Perhaps my new years resolution should involve ironing, especially with a good, fun idea like this….after the transfers are on the t-shirts just maybe I might get out a couple of my husband’s work shirts to iron. Oh now there’s an idea, transfers on his work shirts! Maybe that “girls rule” one!!!!
Too cute!
Love the shirts Kell! They look so cute, I love the FUN shirt
Very cool Kelly! They look great!
I’m with you – I only ever enjoy ironing when I’m pregnant and nesting. At all other times I’m of the ‘it’ll fall out’ school of thought.
I love this ,I have my Great niece Isabel coming to stay for a week ,so this will be a great thing to do,we usually learn to cook, and love it …Thanks Kel..
Oh I hate ironing too… I never ever do it unless we are going to a wedding or a funeral. The last time I ironed I burned a HUGE hole in my arm.. ironing is BAD!
But iron transfers are awesome!!!
Hey, I love that fun ironing. I’m like you on the necessary ironing. I hate to admit it but I’ve had kids grow out of a few items while they’ve been hidden away in the bottom of an ironing basket.
Your girls look gorgeous.
Blessings,
Paula
